NCWorks Anson Listens to Employer Needs, Takes Action, and Makes a Difference

May 25, 2023

The NCWorks Career Center-Anson team, led by Center Leader Freda Buchanan, provides individual assistance to meet the needs of employers. The NCWorks Career Center Anson team realizes the struggles that employers are having to gain employees in today's labor market. The team realized that in order to meet the needs of the employer, they had to really understand what the employer does and the specific needs for their workforce. A prime example of this has been the NCWorks Anson team's relationship with Anderson Health Services, an Adolescent Behavior Health Residential Treatment Center located in Marshville, NC, in need of filling several open positions. Freda and the NCWorks team visited Anderson Health Services, listened to their need for assistance to locate staff in multiple counties and then began to assist. The team posted jobs on NCWorks.gov for the company, connected them with the hiring event scheduled for May 17th in Union County and scheduled an Employer Spotlight Event at the NCWorks Career Center in Wadesboro. Freda and the team sent out flyers to the other NCWorks Career Centers in the Centralina WDB region, posted these flyers on the NC Centralina App, and connected with partners to promote the company. Freda sent out email notifications to all job seekers registered in NCWorks.gov in Anson, Union, Stanly, and Richmond counties along with connecting the employer with Thomas Foster, NCWorks Career Center Union Leader, for the development of a hiring event at the NCWorks Career Center-Union in Monroe.
It is not always a simple task to find job seekers, but it is what the Centralina NCWorks Career Centers do every day, at no cost for our employers. The Centralina Workforce Development Board is proud of the efforts of all NCWorks Career Center team members as they listen, guide and assist employers.
