NCWorks Career Center-Mooresville Staff Participate in “Wellness on Wheels” Event

In partnership with the YMCA of Greater Charlotte and Atrium Health, the NCWorks Career Center-Mooresville staff participated in the first “Wellness on Wheels” event on May 14, 2019 in Mooresville.
This free family-friendly event occurs every second Tuesday of the month and provides the local community with free blood pressure checkups, health screenings, informational resources, snacks, activities for children and more!
“We all have a common goal and that’s to serve the Mooresville community. It’s great to put it into action,” said Ashley Morgan, Executive Director of the Lowes’s of YMCA in Mooresville.
An action committee was formed by Morgan to connect key players in the community such as the NCWorks Career Center-Mooresville to create “Wellness on Wheels.”
“We’re just honored that she reached out and we were able to sit at the table and bring what Centralina Workforce Development Board has charged us to do which is go out and meet the employers and the community head-on, face-to-face so we can connect talent to jobs,” said Sylvia Jones, NCWorks Career Center-Mooresville Center Leader.
