Region at a Glance

The Centralina and Charlotte region enjoys a diverse economy. Manufacturing, health care, distribution, and banking are the core economic drivers. Regional planning, led by the Centralina Council of Governments, works closely with member municipalities to offer smart growth for the region and create a great place to live and do business.

Our partners at the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance provide support for economic development across the entire Charlotte region, which includes the Centralina Workforce Development Boards (WDB) seven county region (Anson, Cabarrus, Iredell, Lincoln, Rowan, Stanly, and Union counties). The Partnership’s Regional Facts provide direct insight into education attainment, largest employment percentages by industry, major employment sectors, average total earnings, and much more.
