Re-employment Bridge Institute is Up and Running

The Re-employment Bridge Institute (RBI) is a teaching/learning initiative created by Rowan-Cabarrus Community College(RCCC) through a grant from the Centralina Workforce Development Boardand the North Carolina Department of Commerce. Through a series of day and a half workshops and online programs, the RBI is sharing best practices in responding to the multiple needs of displaced workers, the unemployed, and the under-employed. The RBI seeks to share ideas and help local institutions and agencies become catalysts for economic recovery.

"These workshops come at a crucial time,as displaced workers have become a day-to-day reality for us all," explains Dr. Nicholas Gennett,RBI project director. "I think this is also a great opportunity for Rowan-Cabarrus CC faculty and staff to learn about the displace worker phenomenon and our response."

Re-employment Bridge Institute workshops are open to anyone interested in workforce development best practices. It focuses on establishing productive community partnerships,so leaders and staff members from community colleges,Employment Security Commission offices,JobLink Career Centers, workforce development boards, public schools, community organizations, and other interested parties are encouraged to participate. Organizations are invited to enroll groups of participants, and multiple representatives from the same institution, county or city are welcome.
